If you're subdividing, building or installing equipment which greatly increases your power use, you may be required to pay a capital contribution. This is your contribution towards any addition or upgrade of the network near your site which is needed to meet your needs. The money goes towards the impact of that site on the network as a whole.
The capital contribution is all about getting the power to your nearest ‘network connection point’ – usually a pole or pillar in the road reserve.
