Community Funding Important Update

Following a review, we discovered an accounting error that led to overestimated historical network charges. This error has been rectified, and we are working with the Commerce Commission to agree the way forward to correct this overcharging.
As a result of this impact, along with a review of our company strategy, we believe it is prudent to suspend both direct dividends and social dividends to our stakeholders. Therefore, Alpine Energy will not be awarding additional funds for new sponsorship or personal development grants for the remainder of this year. Organisations with pre-existing arrangements will be supported, and these conclude in March 2025 which coinciding with the new regulatory reset period.
We deeply appreciate the unwavering support and involvement of our recipients over the years. It has been an honour to share in their stories and successes.
Moving forward, Alpine Energy will be assessing its approach to community engagement to align with our strategic purpose of “empowering our vibrant and thriving communities now and for the future.” We are committed to finding the best ways to continue engaging with our community while managing our resources responsibly.
